St. Louis CAPS Open Houses
The St. Louis Centers for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS) will hold several open houses for students, parents, school personnel, and business partners who are considering getting involved with the program during the 2018-19 school year. Attendees with have a chance to hear from current students, former students, business partners, and instructors. St. Louis CAPS provides juniors and seniors in high school the opportunity to fast-forward beyond college and test-drive their future in high-skill, high-demand professions. This is accomplished by immersing students in a professional workplace where they complete projects directly from business and industry partners. Students learn how to demonstrate professionalism by interacting with guest speakers and completing job shadows and internships with business partners. Each of the four courses offered by St. Louis CAPS occur during the school day and are eligible for high school and college credit. High school students interested in a unique experience that will prepare them for post-secondary success and set them apart from others when it comes to opportunities such as the college application process should strongly consider participating in a St. Louis CAPS course.
St. Louis CAPS was the first, and continues to be the only, CAPS program in the St. Louis area to operate as a multi-district partnership. The partnership currently includes four school districts and is poised to expand during the 2018-19 school year.
